Spreading the word

Lately, I've been itching to do some more marketing for my book. My sales are slowing down, and I've noticed myself slacking on promotion as I get more lost in the depths of novel #2.

Today, I logged into my accounts and did the math, and combining both formats, I've sold 91 copies of my book in five months! Wow! Thank you to everyone who has supported me and allowed my little story to be a part of your life. It means so much to me!

As great as that number is for a first-time self-published author, I know it could be higher. It's not about the money (although it doesn't hurt!), it's about getting my story out there and sharing my characters with the world. I would love for people to love this book the way I do. It's so silly, but I imagine teenage girls falling in love with Jonah the way they fall in love with Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars. I love fandoms and I love how passionate they are about the things they love. It would be an honor for my words and my characters to be loved in that way. I don't want fame, I just want my characters to come alive in the hearts of others. If that makes sense. ;)

So, in speaking with a very motivational friend last night, I've been trying to come up with new ways to spread the word about Still the Song. So far, I've thrown together a couple quote graphics and shared them on a few social media sites. Maybe they will catch someone's eye and pique their interest. Feel free to share them everywhere if you feel so inclined. ;)
